Dyson has launched its first lightweight cylinder vacuum with Ball technology for stable manoeuvring around the tightest corners. The miniature DC38 has been engineered for smaller homes while maintaining the performance of a large vacuum cleaner.
Sitting on a ball, DC38 is lightweight, manoeuvrable and has a low centre of gravity for negotiating tight turns and getting around furniture.
Coupled with a new central steering system, the machine is light to pull, without snagging on corners or the carpet pile. It is equipped with Dyson’s Radial Root Cyclone technology.
James Dyson commented on the launch of the new cleaner: “We thrive on engineering challenges, and our first Dyson Ball cylinder posed quite a few. Cramming over 100 components into the ball itself. Compressing the airways, concealing the motor and ducting and devising a new steering mechanism. We’ve miniaturised the technology to deliver our most manoeuvrable cylinder vacuum yet.”
We can repair Dyson vacuum cleaners plus many other makes in our workshop. For more information please call us on 01482 866660

We were recently called out to a faulty gas oven . The gas oven was under the manufacturers guarantee according to the job report recieved from the client.
On attending the engineer was advised by the customer that they could smell gas but they had no idea were from. As a registered Gas Safe company this was investigated.
To the horror of the engineer the following leaking joint was found.
Preview Changes
Someone had attempted to stem a gas leak by wrapping the pipework in white tape and cellophane.
Our engineer made the connection and gas installation safe and advised on what remedial work was required

SMEG was founded by Vittorio Bertazzoni in 1948 as Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla (metal enamelling factory) in the village of Guastalla, Reggio Emilia, Italy. The company is still in the private ownership of the Bertazzoni family, with Roberto Bertazzoni the current chairman and CEO. The company remains headquartered in Guastalla
SMEG is best known for their 1950s-style retro style refrigerators (the FAB range). This domestic refrigerator has curved corners and comes in a variety of non-traditional colours (for example pastel blue, lime green, orange, yellow and pink) also even in themed patterns. The FAB range has now been extended to cover dishwashers, washing machines and also flue less gas fires.
In recent years SMEG has expanded their product range to include induction hobs, integrated washing machines and washer dryers. In addition, they have had very successful sales with the Opera range of freestanding range cookers, such as the A1, which has almost become a style icon, much like the famed FAB28 fridge and its derivatives.

These products, along with style-led design in other areas, has led to SMEG being regarded by consumers and the media as a leader in the industry in design and aesthetics.
SMEG’s status has become almost iconic and it can be seen on many of our regular television programmes. FAB fridges and fridge freezers can be seen in V for Vendetta and EastEnders and even Wallace and Gromit have a ‘SMUG’. Jamie Oliver regularly cooks on an A2 “Opera” range cooker; indeed SMEG appliances are regularly seen on cooking programmes in general.

Here at Huby Domestic Appliances we have been authorised SMEG repairers for many years. Whether you appliance is a Smeg Range Cooker, a Smeg dishwasher or even a FAB appliance we are able to carry out service work on your appliance and have full access to Smeg spare parts and technical backup. If we are able to help and you live in one of the postcode areas we cover please contact us to arrange a service call

If you are searching for oven repairs there is a good chance that something is wrong with yours.
Gas ovens can fail because gas is not being delivered to the burner or there is a lack of ignition.
The first step to figuring out what to do to fix the problem.
The most obvious step is to check for blockage of the burner’s outlets. Often, food can spill onto the burner and clog it up. Fixing this is as simple as giving it a good clean with a stiff wire brush. This will dislodge the debris and the gas will be able to flow again. Remember though all repairs to gas appliances must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
If a blocked burner is not the cause of an ignition problem, carry out some basic tests on the ignition system. It may be obvious must check the electrical power supply is turned on or in the case of a battery operated system that the battery is not dead.
If the oven’s burner is able to ignite the gas but the oven still doesn’t heat up, the gasket on the door or the door hinges could be at fault.. New gaskets often don’t want to stay in place unless the right technique is used.
Sometimes, the oven won’t heat up because it does not receive a signal too. This happens when the oven’s setting control or timer has developed faults.
If you’re not experienced with oven repairs, the best option is to simply call a repairman. Professionals have the diagnostic tools they need to pin down problems that seem vague.
At Huby Domestic Appliances we also repair other appliances. When you call to get your oven fixed, be sure to ask about any other faulty appliances you may have. It is more cost effect to have them repaired at the same time.
